2월 23일부터 6월 8일까지 시카고 대현미술관서에는 미국인 아티스트 Karen Kilimnik의 작품들이 전시되고있다. Karen 은 1980년말과 90년대 초에 떠오른 현대작가이다. 최근에는 예술사전통, 트렌드와 잘 어울리지않는 배합등을 결합시킨 페인팅으로 많이 알려졌다.

새와 향수, 발레리나와 핑크팬더, 유러피안 고급스러움과 플래스틱 달걀, 종이눈송이와 약들…이렇게 뒤죽박죽 어수선한 소재들이 이 작가의 멀티미디아 작업에 있어서 재료가 된다. 그녀의 팝컬쳐에대한 논평은 드로잉, 페인팅, 사진, 비디오, 조소롸 설치미술등의 형태로 표현된다. Karen의 방대한 실험과 형태 그리고 설치미술은 현대 많은 젊은 작가들에게 심오한 영향을 주었다.
