지난 9월 10일 맨하탄 15가에 위치한 밀크갤러리에서 뉴욕패션위크의 하나로 두리 정의 패션쇼가 열렸다. 지난 팬션쇼들과 마찬가지로 스왈로브스키의 협찬이 있었고 피날레에서 스왈로브스키의 크리스탈을 붙인 옷이 사람들의 시선을 확 사로 잡았다, 또한 MAC 그리고 T3 등의 협찬이 있었다. 지난 2006년 그리고 2007년 패션쇼에서 찬사를 받은 바 있는 그녀의 이번 2008년 봄 컬렉션 역시 사람들의 감탄사를 자아내게하는데 충분했다.
이번 컬렉션 역시 전체적으로는 차분하면서 두리 자신만의 개성이 뚜렷한 흘러내리는 듯 자연스러운 옷의 디자인으로 굉장히 우아하면서 섹시하며 봄에 유행을 예감하는 프릴을 적절히 써서 여성스럽고 귀여운 느낌을 받는다. 또한 개인적으로는 이번 컬렉션에서 사용한 형광색의 부드러운 모래시계 실루엣라인이 들어가는 짧은 드레스들은 동양적이고 정적인 느낌을 많이 주었다.
컬러팔레트에 있어서 눈에 띈것은 이전에 검정, 흰색, 베이지등의 차분한 색상의 팔레트에서 진한 핑크 형광노란색등의 경쾌하고 다소 지난 컬렉션들과 비교되는 강렬한 일렉트릭 컬러 팔레트의 등장인데 이는 네온 아티스트에게서 영감을 받았다고 한다.
두리의 이름을 알리게 된 부드러운 저지소재를 이용하여 자유롭게 주름을 내거나 다양한 모양을 내는 그녀의 디자인은 지난 컬렉션에서 볼 수 없었으나 이번 쇼에 역시 다시 등장하였다. 하이웨이스트라인의 넉넉한 엉덩이와 허벅지부분에서 발목으로 갈수록 감겨지는 디자인은 새롭고 신선하였다.
여성스럽게 비스듬히 접어 늘어뜨린 맵시의 보이쉬한 조끼와 실과 끈으로 엮은 레이스를 오버레이한 드레스는 그녀의 손을 거쳐 새롭게 해석되어 재탄생된 작품들이다.
이번 컬렉션에서 여러 눈을 끄는 디자인의 늘어지는 디자인의 팬츠들에도 불구하고 그녀의 강점은 금속판으로 장식되거나 눈을 끄는 색상이던 역시 드레스에 있었다.
